OK. So new room, new thread. Heres the obvious question. Who your favorite blues guitar player? My vote (an easy one) would be for Stevie Ray Vaughn. I have a few canadian favorites as well (Garrett Mason from Nova Scotia and Ken Hamm from B.C.) but SRV has a talent and personality thats gonna be hard to knock off the top for a long long time (for me at least)

I agree that stevie was good...my favorite album is couldnt stand the weather...I never found stevies music to hard to learn for me because once you learn say 5 or 10 songs you basically have his technique down...because unfortunately alot of stevies work sounds the same...not that that is a bad thing by no means...he has his own style...lightning blues...however ther are too many songs by stevie that sound like pride and joy...Its a curse to be so good at something you cant help but repeat yourself...I think stevie is good however Ive out grown him because I understand his style...which is a let down for me...you know like when you learn that favorite song you really wanted to learn and after a week you stop playing it because the thrill or mystic is gone...Thats how I feel about SRV...
Stevie is at the top of the heap...no doubt...however he is an aquired taste...and 3 songs at a time is all I can take...except the couldnt stand the weather album....which is more rock blues...for sure
However others would disagree
